Ever since we started our “Big Dig”, there have been many varied and interesting finds in the depths of Paddington. Ranging from clay pipes by the hundreds, bottles of all shapes and sizes, plates and even children’s toys. Of course, many of these artefacts are broken, but we have often been amazed at the number of lovely pieces that have been recovered, either fully intact or with only the slightest damage.
All finds then go through a gentle process of washing and recording, before being stored away. We have as many items on display in Paddington as we can, but unfortunately we don’t have the space to display everything.
We have created this new page to show you a selection of our many finds. Please check back regularly as more artefacts are photographed and added to this gallery.
