We are once again taking part in the Heritage Open Day’s 2026. Booking opens for the event on 1st August and close on 11th September 2026

This year, our Heritage Open Day tours will take place at Joseph Williamson’s house site on Mason Street, where you will be able to explore Josephs house basement, before heading below ground into the Wine Bins, The Sandstone Arch and the Gash leading down into the impressive Banqueting Hall. Tours of the house site, are usually members only, though the site is available as a special HOD event.

  • 13.00 pm
  • 14.00 pm

Maximum Number of persons per slot: 10

How to find us and Important Notice:

Location: Joseph Williamson’s House site, Mason Street, Edge Hill, Liverpool, L7 3EW.

Joseph Williamson’s House site is the Façade of the old House, which is opposite No 39 Mason Street. Behind the Façade is a large area with 3 Blue containers. This is Williamson’s House site and where the Banqueting Hall, Sandstone Arch, Gash and Wine Bins are located.

Important Notice: When visiting The Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels, please do not follow the brown road signs to “Williamson’s Tunnels” these signs will take you to the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre on Smithdown Lane and not to FoWT on Mason Street.

There is a limited amount of parking on site.
