Our next FoWT monthly meeting will take place on Monday 2nd October 2023 – 7.00 pm (19.00 hrs) via Zoom.
“Avro Heritage – the story so far…”, by Ian Lomax, MA FCMI.
Our guest speaker on the night will be Ian Lomax, who will talk about “Avro Heritage – the story so far…”
After initially training and then working as a Civil Engineer in Bahrain, Ian returned to the UK and took his career in an entirely different direction joining Greater Manchester Police as a police officer. After a 30 year successful career he retired as a Detective Chief Inspector with the North West Counter Terrorism Unit and set up his own successful Management Consultancy business supporting the Home Office in delivery of a number of projects as well as supporting local north west based companies.
In 2016 he started volunteering with the Avro Heritage Museum at Woodford Aerodrome continuing a life long fascination with aircraft. He closed his consultancy business in 2017 to focus his time with the Museum and helping it develop. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2017.
In January 2022 he was asked to assist one of his former clients, a NW based engineering firm on a part time basis. In March 2023 he was appointed as a Director of that company.
