Marie William’s, started to make this very impressive tapestry to celebrate the tunnels for her late brother Steve Moran. Steve was a founder Member of the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels and was a driving force behind FoWT. Sadly, before this lovely work of art was finished, Steve passed away quite suddenly. This spurred Marie to finish the tapestry in remembrance of her brother, and we are glad she did. In all it took Marie 18 long years to complete this wonderful piece of stitching, but I’m sure you will agree it was worth it. It is amazing.
Marie brought this in to the Tunnels today for us to see and photograph so that we could share an image of it for all to enjoy. If you have ever been a digger with us, you may well find your name on here…
