Coming up: FoWT members meeting – 7th June on Zoom

Why not join our online monthly members meetings? Both members and non members are very welcome to take part, meet the team and get updates on the preservation of the Williamson’s Tunnels. We regularly have guest speakers, giving interesting talks on many and varied subjects at each meeting.

At our next meeting on Monday 7th June, we have “Gay Evans” talking about Before the Welfare State

Gay’s love of history started at senior school with her inspirational history teacher, Mr Hartley. 20 years later a handful of family documents ignited her passion for genealogy. She would describe it as a passion for learning about her ancestor’s lives. Her family and friends might refer to it as an obsession! Finding ancestors living in workhouses or being cared for in lunatic asylums prompted her to look at the welfare system in place pre-1948. Hence her talk, Before the Welfare State.

So why not join us next month, so head to our Monthly Members Meeting page to register your interest to take part in our talks.

You can view the full list of 2021 talks here, make sure you’re on the invitation list.
