Chris Palmer, RIP

We recently received the very sad news that fellow volunteer and digger, Chris Palmer, aged 57 had passed away.

This is very sad news that has shocked us all. Chris was a volunteer digger for quite a few years, being a part of the team during some of our major BigDigs and discoveries. Chris was one of our legendary diggers, put a shovel in his hand and he could fill the buckets at a rate of knots. Chris was popular with all the Volunteers, who enjoyed chatting when working alongside him. It was a huge shock to hear of his sudden passing, he will be sorely missed by all.

The Trustees and Chris’s fellow volunteers of the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels, wish to send our condolences and thoughts to Chris’s Family and Friends.

Chris Palmer, over many years volunteering with FoWT. He was an explorer, that was excited by discovery but was also happy in front of the TV camera too. In the Photos:

  3. Chris, helping Simon O’Brian (TV personality), to descend into the Sandstone Arch with fall arrest equipment, for yet another BBC TV program.
