Visits and meetings postponed

Bearing in mind the latest Coronavirus guidance, Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels has decided to suspend public visits to the tunnels with immediate effect and until further notice.  If you or your group has an existing booking we will contact you shortly.

For the same reason, the monthly FoWT members meetings in Liverpool are also suspended for the time being.  We will contact members when the situation changes.

We hope you will understand that these measures are to reduce the risk of infection and we look forward to returning to normal arrangements in due course.

If you have any questions about this, please contact us.

  1. I have just aquired a 1998 book titled “UNDERGROUND LIVERPOOL” with a rather full Bio of the tunnels, A chap by the name of “STONEHOUSE” appears to have spent some time underground, there are maps & diagrams of the tunnls as well as a few anecdotes 2 of which I would like to ask about. Both relating to “THE CORPORATION STABLE YARD” At the back of the yard there is mention of a 15 foot hole used like a cess pit. The other thing is it was said a wagon fell thro the yard & sooner than retrieve it they left it & filled the hole up.Have you reached the old stables if so any sighn of either the wagon or the 15ft hole.
