Previous FoWT monthly meeting: A talk by Rob Toomey, “A visitors’ guide to the mining and making of copper in Wales”

Our next FoWT monthly meeting will take place on Monday 2nd June 2025 – 7.00 pm (19.00 hrs) via Zoom.

“A visitors’ guide to the mining and making of copper in Wales” by Rob Toomey.

Our guest speaker on the night will be Rob Toomey, who will talk about “A visitors’ guide to the mining and making of copper in Wales”.

Welsh Copper is a talk about some very important historical sites a short drive away from Merseyside. Robs aim is to enthuse his audience to take a look for themselves .

Dr Rob Toomey was born in South Wales but has lived on the Wirral for the last 40years. He studied History at Oxford and Swansea University. His Ph.d thesis on the South Wales Copper Industry was published by Garland Books. He worked in financial management in Liverpool and is a keen student of Victorian Liverpool businesses.
