On Wednesday 6th November, the Trustees and Volunteers of the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels, took delivery of a large batch of new PPE equipment. The donation included Hard Hats and Hi-Viz jackets, for the use of our expanding number of visitors to the tunnels.

In response to an appeal for these items, we were contacted by “Big Heritage“, a Merseyside heritage organisation which manages and protects a number of historic sites in the area, including “Western approaches“, the “Birkenhead Bus and Tram Museum” and “The U-boat Story”, as well as two museums in Chester.
The new hard hats, with a much easier size adjusting mechanism than our existing ones will be a boon, and the Hi-Viz jackets in a range of sizes from “Mini-Mole” to XL, printed with our name and logo, will give us more scope for handling the larger groups of visitors that are coming our way on a regular basis nowadays.
We would like to say a very big Thank You to Big Heritage, from one heritage organisation to another, for their generosity in supplying these items.
