2025 has been another good year, with ever increasing visitor numbers coming up to Mason Street for tours of the Williamson’s Tunnels. The demographic of where our visitors come from continues to surprise us. Whilst many visitors are from Liverpool and North West England, more are coming from across the UK, as faraway as Scotland and Cornwall. However, the biggest surprise is the increasing number of holiday makers from overseas. In fact, quite a few of our overseas visitors arrive by cruise ship, choosing to do a tour of the Williamson’s Tunnels with FoWT, in the brief time they have here before reboarding their ship, rather than other top attractions in Liverpool.
The volunteers of FoWT were delighted to learn that we had once again won a TripAdvisor, Travellers’ Choice award for 2025, which is the 8th yearly award in a run we have received this award. This is wonderful news, placing tours of the Williamson’s Tunnels, with the Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels, in the top 10% of worldwide Attractions, based on positive reviews received from travellers on TripAdvisor.
This is an incredible achievement for FoWT’s volunteers, who are extremely proud to have received this year’s award, as well as the previous years awards. Though as ever, we could not have achieved this without you, our visitors. So a huge thank you to everyone that has visited us, leaving a review on TripAdvisor “Williamson’s Tunnels – Friends of Williamson’s Tunnels“.
